Installation Instructions for TS2 Content on Sim Chic

Installing skins, makeup, hair, etc:
The zip files that you download from Sim Chic need to be opened with a program such as WinZip, unless you are running Windows XP, which has the ability to automatically open these files like any other folder.

INSIDE the zip file you will find one or more ".package" files (which will look something like this: "5fbe3dcb_br76FAjuicyswim1.package"). The ".package" files need to be taken OUT of the zip file (using cut or copy) and moved to your Downloads folder.. which on all PCs is found here:

"C:/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads"

That's all that you need to do, simply move the .package files (not the ZIP folder that contains them, just the .package files) into the Downloads folder. Don't try to install them or click on them.

The next time you run your game, it will recognize the new Package files and the new items will appear for you to choose from when creating a new sim. If you want to dress an existing Sim with new clothing, the Sim will have to go to a Downtown lot to buy the new clothing.

Installing lots, walls, floors, and whole sims:
These items are contained in "Sims2Pack" files, rather than ".package" files. These files need to be taken OUT of the zip folder they were downloaded in (using cut or copy) and moved to your Downloads folder (path noted above).

Once you have the Sims2Pack files in your Downloads folder, you will need to double-click on them in order to install them. Make sure you have your game CD (depending on whether you have an expansion installed or not, this will be either your Sims 2 play disc, your University play disc, or your Nightlife play disc) in your computer before attempting to install.
The game will automatically "unpack" the Sims2Pack files and install all of the necessary content. These files will then show up the next time you run your game!
